What it is
The French Riviera Art Guide is:
- A curated, editorial digital guide to art destinations between Menton and Saint-Tropez (40+ venues)
- A mobile-first, downloadable guide designed for use during travel and planning
- A selection of handpicked venues, chosen for quality and visitor experience
- Invitation-based participation for venue, ensuring a high and consistent level
- A trusted recommendation designed to inspire and engage — not advertising
- A visually strong, modern format, easy to download and save on mobile
- Published in English and free for users, reaching both international and local audiences
Based on our proven Scandinavian model, the guide has been developed and tested on the French Riviera through two pilot editions in 2024 and 2025.
More than an old-style listing, the guide functions as an iengaging planning tool — used when visitors decide what to experience.
The goal:
To make it simple and inspiring for people to spend their free time on high-quality art experiences — from single visits to day trips and weekend getaways.
Why it works
We reach the audience before they start searching — at the moment they begin thinking about how to spend their time.
Without guidance, many visitors default to familiar destinations. The guide expands their awareness and influences where they choose to go.
Instead of relying on users to navigate fragmented websites of the art institutions of varied quality, and to avoid missing out on large chunks of the region's offering, the French Riviera Art Guide:
- Presents a complete, curated overview in one place – with curated editorials and storytelling per venue
- Inspires interest and curiosity
- Simplifies the decision of where to go
- 1 in 4 users download the guide (~25% conversion rate from the targeted traffic)
It captures:
- A motivated audience with a clear intention to visit, but who:
- are not actively searching for museum exhibitions and art destinations, Or who do not know where to look
- are unaware of the full cultural offering
- tend to default for familiar or nearby alternatives
- lack time or direction to do their own research

About The Art Trotter
Founded in Norway, The Art Trotter is a digital platform dedicated to making art and culture more accessible, relevant, and engaging for a broad audience — through education and mediation.
Since its launch in 2019, the platform has built a strong and engaged audience through digital educational formats and content-driven storytelling. Today, The Art Trotter reaches tens of thousands of art enthusiasts with a high level of trust and engagement. More than 30,000 people have learned about art through our platform.
We collaborate with museums, galleries, and cultural institutions, developing curated formats that connect audiences more closely with art and cultural experiences. Among our public initiatives is Art on Screen, developed in collaboration with the Norwegian Film Institute.
The Art Guide is a central part of our mission to make art more accessible and engaging for the public. Through this format, we curate and present carefully selected art experiences, making it easier for audiences to discover, plan, and explore.
We look forward to developing this year’s guide together — and to inspiring more people to enrich their summer with art.
