Visit one of the most exciting destinations for collectors on the French Riviera this August

This is not an ordinary exhibition visit.

You’re invited to an exclusive collector’s experience at a major international gallery with representation in the UK and South Africa and are discreetly hosting a temporary summer space on the Riviera right now.

The visit offers a truly unique opportunity for art collectors during which you will discover works by some of the most important international contemporary artists, including the acclaimed William Kentridge and Yinka Shonibare.

Following a Michelin-starred champagne reception, you will be welcomed by the gallery’s curators and experts flown in from London and Cape Town, who will give you an in-depth guided visit, with profound insight into the art of the Global South, and the context, stories, cultural narratives, and market trends behind each work.

After the visit, the day will continue with a collectors’ lunch in a hidden artistic location, away from the summer crowds, followed by time at a private foundation.

You will share the day with a select group of like-minded art lovers and collectors, opening up opportunities for insightful conversations, exchanging experiences, and building connections.

Throughout the day, you’ll be in the hands of experts, guiding you with The Art Trotter’s signature approach to art and collecting.

A program tailored to the discerning collector — and those who aspire to become one

A michelin-starred champagne reception

On arrival, we will be welcomed by a Michelin-starred champagne reception — a moment to meet one another before beginning this special art day together.

We will have the chance to savour a Grand Cru from an exclusive champagne house, founded in 1808 by Honoré Legras, whose vineyards on the Côte des Blancs remain among the most celebrated in France and whose champagnes are served in Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.

An expert-led visit to a major international gallery

This is the gallery's first ever seasonal representation on the French Riviera, bringing major contemporary art to the region. With their discreet presence on the hills of Saint-Paul-de-Vence, you are given a unique direct access to the art you would normally see at major art fairs, in private collections, museums and world capitals.

You will have the chance to explore a group of artists who have been instrumental in influencing the course of contemporary art from the African continent, its diaspora and beyond. Some of the names include El Anatsui, William Kentridge, Shirin Neshat and Yinka Shonibare.

The gallery's curators and experts, flown in from London and Cape Town, will give us a highly informed private tour, sharing their deep insight into the context, stories, artists and cultural narratives of each artwork. Some of the experts know the artists personally and have even worked with them for decades, ready to answer any in-depth question.

A unique opportunity to access, learn about, and collect important international art

Highlights of the exhibition include:

  • William Kentridge’s celebrated textiles and bronze sculptures, coinciding with his solo presentation at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

  • Yinka Shonibare’s iconic Wind sculptures and new quilts, shown alongside his first major institutional exhibition on the African continent in Madagascar.

  • Pamela Phatsimo Sunstrum’s drawings following her solo presentation at the Barbican, London, and ahead of her representation at this year’s Taipei Biennial

  • Kapwani Kiwanga’s ceramics, following her announcement as the winner of the 2025 Joan Miró Prize and ahead of a solo show at the Fundació Miró, Barcelona in 2026.

Collector Lunch at a hidden gem away from the crowds

After the visit, we will enjoy a long, relaxed lunch in a secluded estate where art, design, and nature come together — away from the crowds, and offering the perfect setting for collector conversations and exchange.

Visit to a private art foundation

For those who wish, the day will culminate with an optional visit to a private art foundation – one of the Riviera’s most discreet and newest venues for contemporary art.
